About the Club

We are justifiably proud that Coventry Golf Club has been chosen to be an Open Championship Regional Qualifying Course from 2008 until 2013.

Our Course Manager and Course Committee are in constant touch with the R & A to ensure that competitors will enjoy the course and our facilities.

Visitors

We welcome Visitors from Monday to Friday (see Note 2 below about Tuesdays), and Society and Corporate groups on Wednesdays and Thursdays, to play on our beautiful and challenging course.

Green Fees

Currently the Green Fees are as follows:

Visitor Mon-Fri Only (per day)	£50.00
Guest playing with a Member (per day)	£20.00
Visitor with a County Card	£25.00
Junior playing with a Member (per day)	£1.00

NOTES

On Tuesdays, Visitors may only play after 2:00pm
Guests and Junior Guests may play up to a maximum of 6 times per year and only once in any calendar month at the reduced rate.
County Card holders may only play one round per year at the County Card rate.

Facilities

Open Championship Regional Qualifying:	During the period up to and including the days of the Open Championship Regional Qualifying, we are hoping to have AA directional signs erected at key junctions.
Pro Shop :	Well stocked Pro Shop. Open to non members.
Bar :	Fully Licensed Bar provided for Members, guests and day visitors playing golf at the club.
Dining Room :	Excellent facilities are provided in our luxurious Dining Room
Changing Rooms :	There are both Male and Female changing rooms available
Showers :	Male and female showers. Towels provided for your use while at the club at no cost
Practice facilities :	Coventry Golf Club has a 9-hole putting green along with a short game area which includes nets and a chipping green; as well as a separate long game practice ground.
Handicap Required :	Certificate must be provided
Professional :	Phil Weaver, Chairman of the PGA and Joint Chairman of the Ryder Cup Committee.
Club house :	Well furnished with lounges on upper floor giving panoramic views of the course.

About the Course

Coventry Golf Club has become one of the UK's most attractive inland courses and provides an exciting challenge to all golfers with its gently undulating parkland course of 6601 yards in length with a par and SSS of 73, made up of 5 par 5's, 9 par 4's and 4 par 3's.

Today the course can boast a large number and varied type of trees.

This 'green policy' owes much to the foresight of the then Professional Norman Roffe.

The many groups of Fir and Silver Birch were planted in 1960, together with Cherries, Whitebeam, Chestnut and young Beech many of which were donated by individual members.

This policy was continued by our present Professional; Phil Weaver and has resulted in all 18 tree-lined holes making the course so attractive today.

Usual Considerations for Other Players

1) Priority on the Course

In the absence of special rules, 2-ball matches should have precedence over and be entitled to pass any 3-ball or 4-ball match.

A single player has no standing and should give way to match of any kind.

If a match fails to keep its place on the course and loses one clear hole on the players in front, it should allow the match following to pass.

2) Care of the Course

Holes in Bunkers

Before leaving a bunker, a player should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints they made.

Replace/Fill Divot Holes, Repair Ball-marks and Spike Damage

Through the green, a player should ensure that any turf cut or displaced is replaced and pressed down or repaired with sand & seed mixture, and that any damage to the putting green made by a ball is carefully repaired.

Damage to the putting green caused by golf shoe spikes should be repaired on completion of the hole.

Damage to Greens/Tees - Flagsticks, Bags, Trolleys, etc.

Players should ensure that when putting down flagsticks or bags, no damage is done to the putting green, and that neither they nor their caddies damage the hole by standing close to it, nor in handling the flagstick or removing the ball from the hole. Players should ensure that the flagstick is properly placed in the hole prior to leaving the putting green. Players should not damage the putting green by leaning on their putters, particularly when removing their ball from the hole.

Similarly, players are encouraged to not take bags onto the teeing ground, or ensure that no damage is caused by them placing a bag on a teeing ground, and under no circumstances should trolleys or buggies be taken onto either the putting green or teeing ground.
